Aiden Markram’s century-scoring form continued with a ton in the Proteas’ warm-up game against the Indian Board President’s XI.

The opener continued the fine form he showed during the South African A tour to score 103 off 117 balls. This included 19 fours and 2 sixes.

His performance was extra special, considering that he partners in quick succession – Dean Elgar (6), Theunis de Bruyn (6) and Zubayr Hamza (22).

He proceeded to build a telling 93-run partnership with Temba Bavuma, to take South Africa to 171-3 before he retired not out (not hurt as Cricinfo’s scorecard suggests).

The Proteas will hope he can take this form into the India Test series which kicks off on 2 October.
