Dafabet Warriors continued their winning streak in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) 1 Day Cup after thumping AET Tuskers by eight wickets at the Dafabet St George’s Park.

Warriors opted for the ball first to sink their visitors to 130 all out in just under 35 overs.

Nealan van Heerden was the chief destroyer, with a five-wicket haul that saw off Dilivio Rigaard (8), Malcolm Nofal (3), Kyle Nipper (28), Keith Dudgeon for none, Simangaliso Nhlebela with two runs.

JP King’s unbeaten half-century (68 off 64) took the Warriors home after losing only the two wickets of Jordan Hermann (39), and Sinethemba Qeshile (17).

Meanwhile, Western Province kept their CSA 1 Day Cup final hopes alive with a 45-run victory against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in Durban.

The visitors opted to bat first, with a rocky start that saw their line-up dismissed at regular intervals.

Division 2’s SA Emerging Players, Valentine Kitime (50) and Abdullah Bayoumy (54) scored crucial half-centuries as Western Province ended the innings on 302/8.

George Linde’s half-ton (55 off 47) was also crucial in taking the visitors to a respectable target.

Okuhle Cele (4/55) was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts after registering the wickets of Jonathan Bird (10), Tony de Zorzi (32), Kyle Verreynne (19) and the all-important Linde wicket.

Dolphins’ chase was set up nicely by Jon-Jon Smuts (94) and Marques Ackerman (72) who stood for 143 runs in their opening stand.

Their demise saw a regular fall of wickets, with Dane Paterson (4/38), and Mihlali Mpongwana (3/32) at the forefront of the visitor’s attack to restrict the hosts to 257 all out.

In Division 2, the ITEC Knights maintained their unbeaten streak with a 106-run win (via DLS Method) against Northern Cape Heat in Bloemfontein.
