A dominant bowling performance by the South Africa U19 girls who beat UAE in their final round-robin game by 45 runs and ensure they end second in their group and go through to the playoffs.

Miane Smit ran through the UAE side to end with incredible figures of 4-11 in her 4-over allotment to bowl them out cheaply for 67.

Elandri Janse van Rensburg (24) and Simone Lourens (27) got SA u19 off to a decent start in the powerplay before wickets fell and in regular intervals. SAU19 struggled once again to form partnerships in the middle overs.

Ohluhle Siyo contributed with 25 and Jenna Evans with 17 at the end to get the side to a somewhat competitive 112-7.

The bowlers were all over UAE. Ayanda Hlubi started the carnage by picking up 2-6 in her first spell but it was Miane Smit who wreaked havoc by picking up two wickets to have UAE reeling on 44-6 at the halfway stage.

Miane Smit continued to not give them space to breathe being well supported by the rest of the bowlers as UAE just couldn’t form a partnership or stay at the crease for long enough.
