On Sunday, South Africa A Blue took on South Africa A Red at the Tuks Oval in a 50-over clash.

SA A Blue won the toss and elected to bat first.

The team managed to post 226 all out, with top performances from Beyers Swanepoel (48 off 48 balls) and Keagan Lion-Catchet (36). Five wickets fell after the top five collectively contributed 48 runs.

The Red team’s Tshepo Moreki (3-48) and Gerald Coetzee (3-35) were the main wicket-takers for their side, while Senuran Muthusamy put the subsequent best figures of 2-48.

The Red team’s innings comprised good starts from Gerald Coetzee (32), Senuran Muthusamy (30) and Tony de Zorzi (31). But the top scorers on the day were Kyle Verreynne (36) and David Teeger (49 off 57 balls).

Kwena Maphaka stood out with 2-40 mainly for dismissing Proteas players De Zorzi and Muthusamy, while Divan Engelbrecht was the top wicket-taker for his side with 3-46.

They finished on 225/7 after the target was updated to 224. The Red team won by 3 wickets.
