The Lions will have the chance to win a second trophy this season after beating the Titans to make the CSA T20 Challenge final.

In the first semi-final between the Lions and the Titans at the Wanderers, the hosts were dominant with the ball.

Promising leg-spinner Nqaba Peter was the star with the ball, taking 4-18 to rip out the Titans’ middle order.

Jack Lees’ effort kept the innings to give the Titans a total to defend, his 64 off 43 balls took the visitors to 131-9 in a revised 18 overs.

The Lions needed 134 (DLS) in 18 overs to win the match.

The hosts chased down their target with relative ease. Despite losing an early wicket, a second-wicket partnership of 85 between Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen set the foundation for victory.

The former lost his wicket after 38 off 26 balls, but Van Der Dussen stuck around till the end with a dominant 73 off 45 balls (8 fours and 1 six).

Three fours from Temba Bavuma for his 19 was a decent contribution, but the majority of the plaudits will go to Rassie for his contribution.

The Lions won by 8 wickets.
