Donovan Ferreira surged to an unbeaten 55 off 29 balls to set the Titans up for a comfortable 54-run victory over the South Western Districts in Kimberley today.

Ferreira finished a stagnant Titans’ innings strongly with Ayabulela Gqamane, who scored a swift 21 off 10 deliveries.

Theunis de Bruyn started proceedings with a knock of 48 off 33 balls, before the innings hung in the balance for the Pretoria-based side.

Hershell America added to his leading wicket-taking tally, scoring figures of 3-32, but dropped catches seemed to be the talk of SWD’s downfall on the day.

SWD, who were the only Division 2 side in the quarterfinals, responded strongly with the bat from the outset, thanks to openers Leus du Plooy and Hanno Kotze, who partnered for 82 inside the first nine overs.

Du Plooy batted particularly well, scoring 55 off 33 balls, but after Kotze’s dismissal for 24 and the former’s wicket a few balls later, the side from George wasn’t able to salvage any consistency throughout their order as they were picked off for 138 in the 18th over.

The Titans will now play their semifinal on Thursday against the winner between the Dolphins and Warriors, who’re set to play their last eight showpiece on Wednesday.
