The Proteas Women completed their ODI leg of the tour by beating India by five wickets in the final ODI to seal the series 4-1.

The Proteas had a slow start to their chase before a middle-order partnership of 96 between Anneke Bosch (58) and Mignon du Preez (57) put the visitors in a strong position. Losing both these players in quick succession set them back.

Their all-rounders, De Klerk and Marizanne Kapp, were needed to be at their best to take the game home. They succeeded.

De Klerk scored a 39-ball 19 and Kapp scored a 42-ball 36, to take the team over the line.

India women batted first and scored 188 with their skipper Mithali Raj once again starring with the bat, this time with the top score for a team of 79 not out.

From the Proteas’ perspective, it was Nadine de Klerk topped the wickets tally with 3/35. She was aided by Nondumiso Shangase (2/43) and Tumi Sekhukhune (2/26). A tidy performance from the Proteas bowlers.

It was a dominant ODI leg for the Proteas as they sealed a 4-1 win.
