Western Province comfortably beat Northerns by 7 wickets to remain unbeaten in the tournament, and finish top of their pool, writes Emily Norris.

In the last game of Pool A, the unbeaten Western Province was up against Northerns, who were still looking to get off the mark in the tournament. On this scorcher of a day, Western Province won the toss, electing to field first. Northerns were bowled out for 108 off 45.2 overs, with just 5 fours in their innings. The standout batting performances came from Danelle Oberholzer scoring 33 and Deeksha Sharma scoring 26. Robyn Appels and Leah Jones both picked up 3 wickets apiece, for 12 and 19 runs respectively.

WP came out to bat needing 109 runs to win, with Kayla Reyneke and Nadia Mbokotwana opening the batting. 3 wickets fell early, with the score on 36, but the crucial 73-run partnership between Andrie Steyn and Delmi Tucker is what won the game for Western Province. The partnership was relatively even in terms of runs contributed, with Steyn contributing 32 runs, while Tucker contributed 38 runs. Steyn finished on 35* with 2 fours and Tucker 38* with 4 fours.

In the end, Western Province cruised to victory, scoring 109-3 in 33 overs. They remained unbeaten in the tournament, winning 4 out of 4 games.
