We wrap up the final full weekend of Mzansi Super League fixtures, which saw the Paarl Rocks secure a home final.

Cape Town Blitz vs Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

The exceptional death bowling of Wahab Riaz and Sisanda Magala restricted the Giants to 173/6. After an explosive opening stand of 136 by Matthew Breetzke (64) and Ben Dunk (75).

The Blitz‘ opening duo were off to a blitzering start as well in an 85-run stand before Imran Tahir dismissed De Kock for 40 and caused further havoc with a beaut of a googly to send Janneman Malan on his way for (60) and then the wickets kept tumbling.

CT Blitz went from looking in complete control at 122/3 requiring 68 off 60 balls but in the end managed to post 162/8.

Giants won by 11 runs to extend their lead at the top.

Persistent rain had the final say as Jozi Stars who haven’t won a single game yet took their tally up to 4 points after their fixture vs Tshwane Spartans on Thursday was also rained out.

Paarl Rocks vs Nelson Mandela Bay Giants

In an epic top of the table clash, the Paarl Rocks claimed a 12-run victory to confirm that they would host a much-deserved final at MSL 2.0.

Cameron Delport and Henry Davids got the Rocks off to a brilliant start scoring 39 and 31 respectively. Imran Tahir struck a double blow in his final over to end with figures of 2/14 but a cool and collected 61-run stand between Isuru Udana (27) and Kyle Verreynne (36) led them to a competitive 168/5.

Ferisco Adams replaced Hardus Viljoen and starred for his side picking up key wickets at crucial times. Matthew Breetzke was his first victim dismissed early for 6, then the dangerous Marco Marais for 21 and the Giants top scorer, Heino Kuhn for 58. Tabraiz Shamsi picked up figures of 2/25 as they restricted the Giants to 156/6.

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants ended second and will be hosting the playoff at St George’s Park. They too fully deserve it for their consistent vibe at the stadium throughout the tournament.
