Ziyaad Abrahams took the first five-for of this year’s T20 Challenge as Rocks fell short by three runs against the Knights on Day 13 of the competition.

Momentum Multiply Titans vs North West Dragons: Titans won by 33 runs

The Dragons asked the Titans to bat first after winning the toss at St. Goerge’s Park Cricket Ground. Quinton de Kock and Theunis de Bruyn took the fight to the Dragons bowlers and quickly put on 41 runs in 3.5 overs.

The Dragons bowlers quickly took control of the game by dismissing the next three batters for just 37 runs. At 78-4, Heinrich Klaasen (54 off 41) and Donovan Fereira (37 off 35) guided the Titans to a safer target to defend. They finished on 167-4.

In reply, the Dragons imploded and were restricted to 133-7. Lesego Senokwane looked the part for his bold 31 off 32 deliveries. Aaron Phangiso’s 2-13 in 4 overs ensured that the Titans won by 33 runs and also earned him a Bowler of the match award.

GBets Rocks vs Itec Knights:

The Knights were out to play for pride as they are knocked out of the competition already. On the other hand, the Rocks looked to finish the tournament strong since they’ve already qualified for the semi-finals.

Christoffel Klijnhans’ half-century and a cameo from Patrick Kruger (19 off 7) took the Knights to a decent score of 164-6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Raynard van Tonder’s almost run-a-ball 38 was also crucial for the Knights in setting a defendable score after opting to bat first. Ziyaad Abrahams continued to impress by taking the competition’s first five-wicket-haul and eventually returned figures of 5-34.

Pieter Malan (60 off 51 with 6 fours and 1 six), again, put on a captain’s knock but fell short by three runs this time around.
