Although Kagiso Rabada’s two wickets gave the Proteas the upper hand in the first session, it was Anrich Nortje’s wicket of Virat Kohli that stole the show at the start of the third Test in Ranchi, writes Ongama Gcwabe.

The third Test match has had a lot of debutants from both sides. Shahbaz Nadeem made his debut for India while George Linde and Heinrich Klaasen made their debuts for South Africa.

Lungi Ngidi came in for Vernon Philander, while Quinton de Kock got a crack at the top-of-the-order due to Aiden Markram being ruled out due to a self-inflicted wrist injury.

Rabada started off brilliantly at the start of the India innings. He has shown growth throughout this tour bowling more attacking lines and it has worked as he got the big wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Anrich Nortje was also bowling attacking lines as he took the big wicket of Virat Kohli for 12 runs. He joined Rabada and Senuran Muthusamy in picking up Kohli as their maiden Test wicket.

At Lunch, India ended on 71/3 after 23 overs.
