Back-to-Back half-centuries for Rilee Rossouw saw the Knights through to the quarterfinals while the Titans avoided an upset to stay in the competition.

ITEC KNIGHTS v HOLLYWOODBETS TUSKERS

Day two of Pool B fixtures got underway in a cloudy Bloemfontein on Wednesday with the Knights and Tuskers locking horns in hopes of sealing a spot in the quarterfinal stages of the competition.

On the back of a bonus point win on day one of Pool B fixtures, the Tuskers sent the Knights in to bat with hopes of repeating their successes from the previous day.

Thuso Ngcobo’s figures of 2-26 in four overs meant that the Knights finished on a decent 154 runs, courtesy of Rossouw’s 67 (47) and Farhaan Behardien’s 54 (42).

Mbulelo Budaza destroyed any hopes of a successful run chase when he dismissed the dangerous Cameron Delport in the third over for a blitz 18 (9), which he struck at a rate of 200.

Miguel Pretorius highlighted the innings for the bowlers, scoring figures of 3-32 in his four-over spell to help secure a bonus point win for the Knights. This meant the Knights head to their final pool fixture against the Rhinos well into the quarters.

MULTIPLY TITANS v MPUMALANGA RHINOS

The match between the teams at the bottom of Pool B standings was affected by rain and reduced to seven overs apiece.

Donovan Ferreira’s 19 off 7 deliveries helped the Titans secure a respectable 66 runs for the loss of four wickets. J Hinricsen’s 1-8 in two overs was the pick of the bowlers for the Rhinos.

In reply, Ruban Herman’s (19 off 9) and Alexander Kok’s (17 off 9) efforts were not enough to stop the combination of Okuhle Cele (2-7 in 2 overs) and Aaron Phangiso (2-10 in 2 overs) from restricting the Rhinos and securing a six run win for the Titans.
