Kagiso Rabada took his 200th Test wicket in the first session of Day 3 of the 1st Test at Karachi, as Pakistan set a lead of 158, writes Khalid Mohidin.
The first hour of Day 3 of the 1st Test belonged to Pakistan. It was all about extending the lead as much as possible for the hosts, and they obliged, taking a lead of 158 after being bowled out for 378.
Kagiso Rabada (3-70) was one of the positives for South Africa, he bowled an incredible in swinger that pitched at 4th stump and angled in at the righthander Hasan Ali, knocking over his middle stump.
This was Rabada’s 200th wicket.
He is the fourth-youngest to reach the milestone. Youngest South African to the milestone.

Keshav Maharaj (3-90) managed to wrap up the Pakistan innings by trapping Nauman Ali lbw. Yasir Shah, who frustrated the visitors with a cameo 38 off 37 balls, remained unbeaten.
The Proteas’ opening pair, Dean Elgar(18 off 33 balls) and Aiden Markram (16 off 41 balls) were patient in their pursuit of the lead, ending the session on 37-0 at lunch.
