Quinton de Kock is confident that Hashim Amla’s appointment as the batting consultant at the Cape Town Blitz will be a massive opportunity for the Blitz’ young talent.

The Blitz team are making all the right moves ahead of MSL 2.0.

They showed this with the appointment of former Proteas batsmen Hashim Amla as the batting consultant.

With the majority of their team being youngsters, this looks like a mighty move for the future stars to soak up and learn from one of the best.

De Kock is very chuffed to see his former opening partner again and just catch up.

“It’ll be good to see him again, we haven’t had a chance to see each other since after the World Cup.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him working with some of the youngsters going forward.”

When asked about the lessons that he and the Proteas learnt in India, he took some time to think about where to start.

“Yoh,” he exclaimed. “There’s a lot of hard lessons to be learnt there, I think it was more of a reminder actually, how difficult it is to play in the subcontinent and how strong a team India is.

“They have a settled team and that’s just a reminder of where we want to be as a team.”
