Despite Pakistan bowling South Africa out for 201, the Proteas struck back reducing the hosts to 129/6 who have a 200-run lead in the 2nd Test at Rawalpindi, writes Khalid Mohidin.
Pakistan were dominated on Day 3.

The Proteas needed players to stick around with Temba Bavuma and no one managed to do so, Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje were both bowled on either side of a Kagiso Rabada run out.
This was the first time in 16 years that the Proteas had 4 run-outs in a series, the last time was in 5-match Test series against England in 2005.
They last their last 5 wickets for 37 runs.
Bavuma was left stranded on 44 not out. The Proteas were all out for 201 with a deficit of 71 runs.
During Pakistan’s second innings, Rabada came out with aggression and fierce passion. His celebration after trapping Imran Butt lbw for a duck was loud, raw and satisfying to watch.
Keshav Maharaj then struck by dismissing Abid Ali, who tried to sweep a delivery sliding down leg and gloved it to the keeper. Pakistan was down 2 for 28 runs.
They went into tea with a lead of 113, on 42-2.
The Proteas got a great start to the final session. Maharaj dismissing Babar Azam for the third time in the series.
George Linde’s straight one then trapped Azhar Ali lbw, out for 33. He followed this with the wicket of Fawad Ali, who popped one up to short-leg.
Pakistan finished the day after a strong 52-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf.
Linde took another before the end of play, dismissing Faheem Ashraf for 29, the batsman skewed this drive to backward point.
