Sibonelo Makhanya’s match-winning 63 from 47 balls helped the Paarl Rocks hold onto their top spot with a 5-wicket win against the Jozi Stars.
The Paarl Rocks were in a spot of bother on 53-4 inside the powerplay when Makhanya came to the crease under pressure with his side needing another 119 runs for victory.
He shared in a 73-run stand with Kyle Verreynne (28) to edge them closer to victory. Isuru Udana came in and was in a hurry to wrap things up as he scored 28* off 16 balls.
Makhanya was unbeaten on 63 from 47 balls with five 4’s and two 6’s.

Reeza Hendricks was the top scorer with yet another half-century (74 off 53 balls) for Jozi Stars who posted a defendable total (171/3).
Kagiso Rabada starred as well with his 3/36 in his 4 overs. He got the early wickets Jozi Stars desperately needed, but it was in vain as they recorded their seventh loss of the tournament.
