The Proteas restricted India to 133-9 in their 20 overs, Lungi Ngidi starring with 4-29 to set South Africa 134 for victory.

It was a superb bowling performance from South Africa against India, particularly up front. It started with two maiden overs from Wayne Parnell, and despite a six in the next two overs, the start to the powerplay bowling-wise was exceptional from the Proteas.

Lungi Ngidi made it even sweeter, he removed India’s entire top 3, and they were reeling at 41-3 after 6.5 overs. His lines and lengths were exceptional, tucking up the India batters whose scoring options were contained by tight bowling.

Anrich Nortje bowled with extreme pace and he removed Deepak Hooda, to see India lose their 4th, adding just 1 run.

Ngidi made it 4 by removing dangerman, Hardik Pandya. He ended with figures of 4-29.

Suryakumar Yadav was exceptional on the wicket, he managed to play sensibly by rotating strike and finding the boundary, he scored 68 off 40 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes).

He was key to getting the India side to 133-9 in their 20 overs, Wayne Parnell bowling exceptionally at the death finishing with 3-15.

The par total at the Perth ground was 160, and they ended way below par.
