Nelson Mandela Bay Giants vs Tshwane Spartans

A new-look opening pair for the Centurion-based consisting of Tony de Zorzi and Wiaan Mulder – who was pushed up the order – they shared in a 56-run stand with the former contributing 30.

Mulder continued his excellent start and notched up his maiden MSL fifty. He also shared in a 67-run partnership with AB de Villiers who seemed to be in fine form hitting them all around the ground. He scored (63 off 38) to guide Tshwane Spartans to 188/5.

Imran Tahir once again starred with figures of 2/28 in his 4 overs.

Ben Dunk’s incredible unbeaten (99 from 54 balls) got Giants over the line in a nail-biting clash in front of their home crowd.

He was well supported by Ryan ten Doeschate (33) and Marco Marais’ explosion at the back end (38* from 22 balls).

They beat Tshwane Spartans by 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining.

Paarl Rocks vs Durban Heat

Cameron Delport’s (84) and Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten 66 guided the Paarl Rocks to 195/2.

Henry Davids and Cameron Delport got their side off to a dream start despite the former losing his wicket inside the powerplay with 52 runs on the board.

Delport and Du Plessis continued to keep the scoreboard ticking in a 53-run stand before James Vince (25*) shared in a 92-run partnership to steer them to a massive total.

Malusi Siboto picked up figured of 1/29 in his allotted 4 overs.

Durban Heat registered the highest run chase in this edition of the MSL.

Alex Hales spectacular unbeaten (97* off 55) and he was well aided by David Miller who treated the Boland crowd to “Miller time” as he scored 40 from 22 balls as they chased down the total with 7 balls to spare.

They beat the Paarl Rocks by 6 wickets to stay alive in the tournament.
