George Linde and Lizaad Williams took 3 wickets apiece as South Africa reduced Pakistan to 140/9 in the 2nd T20I.
After Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat in the second T20 against South Africa at the Wanderers, Johannesburg, they set 140/9.
Pakistan was on the back foot right from the beginning as George Linde dismissed in-form Pakistani batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, off the first ball of the innings. In Linde’s second over, he dismissed Sharjeel Khan. Soon after, he dismissed an in-form Mohammad Hafeez for 32. He finished with career-best figures of 3/23.
Linde was well-supported by Tabraiz Shamsi who took Haider Ali’s wicket and conceded 22 runs in his quota of four overs.
Lizaad Williams, who took the key wickets of Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali, was also impressive. South Africa also had four tight overs from Beuran Hendricks, who gave away just 27 runs at an economy rate of 6.75 runs per over.
Williams took 3/35, showing his class with excellent variety, pace and particularly execution of the Yorker.
Sisanda Magala, after a shaky start, bowling 12 balls in his first over – 4 No Balls and going for 18 runs, brought it back nicely to go for only 14 runs in his next three overs. He also managed to take a wicket to finish on 1/32 and a run-out off his own bowling.
