The SA20 will provide an opportunity for young cricketers to learn from experienced players, overseas players and experienced coaches, says Jacques Kallis.

The Pretoria Capitals Assistant coach is confident in the event and how it has been organised so far behind the scenes, which we at Cricket Fanatics Magazine could see first-hand when attending press conferences and training days.

“Generally I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen. There’s lots [of talent] to work with and I’m really looking forward to working with the guys,” said Kallis.

“It’s been coming a long time. People have been calling out for it for ages. I’m glad that it’s finally come to South Africa and we got this league here. I think it’s really important for SA Cricket.”

One of the most valuable benefits of the tournament will be the exposure of our young cricketers to not only play against the best but also to learn from the best – coaches and players.

“We have young guys here that are going to be working with experienced players, coaches and overseas players. I have no doubt that it’s going to be a fantastic tournament,” Kallis said confidently.

“A lot of work has been put in behind the scenes, so hopefully people will come out and support, I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

When asked about the SA20 tournament providing a global platform, Kallis responded:

“A little bit. I suppose there will be much more [Global exposure] going forward. This is a fantastic opportunity for guys to put their hands up and make a big name for themselves.

“An opportunity for them to get their names out to leagues around the world. So it’s a fantastic opportunity for these guys which I’m sure they are going to grab with both hands.”
