Ryan Rickelton shares information on his excellent domestic form, the lessons he has learnt on his journey so far, where he wants to bat in the national side and what he has learnt from being in the Proteas camp.

The Lions batter has had an exquisite start to the 4-Day Series season. In 4 matches for the Lions, he has scored 473 runs at an average of 118.25. This includes 3 hundreds on 1 half-century.

Two of those milestones came against Western Province Blitz at Newlands where he showed two distinct style’s of play for his 91 and 102 not out respectively. His first knock was a lot more free-flowing while his century came as his side were aiming to avoid defeat and walk away with a draw.

Rickelton’s efforts showed his versatility as a batter and it was a nod to selectors who have called him up to the national setup.

We chatted to Ryan about his recent purple patch domestically and his time with the Proteas so far.
