Half-centuries from Reeza Hendricks and Wiaan Mulder sealed the CSA T20 Challenge title for the Lions.
The Dolphins batted first and managed to set 165-8.
Jason Smith scored his fourth T20 half-century to help the Dolphins recover after being 103-6, to help the visitors post a decent total.
Smith struck five fours and a six from 33 balls and was well supported by Eathan Bosch (17) as the pair added 57 for the seventh wicket from 31 balls.
Cody Yusuf (2-16) and Bjorn Fortuin (2-24) were the pick of the bowlers for the Lions.
The Lions’ response was shaky and they found themselves 88-3 after 10.2 overs. Hendricks, however, stayed in until the end and with help from Mulder took the Lions over the line.
Hendricks hit 73 from 52 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) while Mulder scored an incredible 26-55 (2 fours, 4 sixes) to take the Lions to a 7-wicket win.
This is the second title for the Lions this season, after winning the 4-Day Series final against Western Province.
