Gerald Coetzee and Tshepo Moreki claimed wins with exceptional bowling for the Knights and the Titans respectively, as we wrap up the final day of the first round of 4-Day Franchise Series fixtures.
Knights vs Warriors
Gerald Coetzee showed his class by making a smooth transition from U19 cricket to franchise cricket. With this match being his first-class debut, the youngster ended day four with figures of 4/53 to add to his 2/38 during the Warriors’ first innings. His performance helped the Knights claim a mammoth 255-run victory in their opening match.
Titans vs Dolphins
After declaring with a lead of 290, thanks to a Neil Brand once again showing his class this time with a half-century, the Dolphins were sent into bat as a draw looked likely. But a heroic bowling performance from the Titans saw them manage a win. A hat-trick from Tshepo Moreki (4/32) saw him remove Andile Phehlukwayo (5), then Eathan Bosch (0) and then Darryn Dupavillon (0). The Titans won by 129 runs.
