In one game you’re an aggressor and in the next, you have to dig deep and see your side over the line.
George Linde who is having a spectacular season thus far put in an all-round performance for WP Blitz against the Dragons.
He picked up 4-34 which helped restrict the Dragons to a meagre total. But low-scoring matches tend to more often than not, turn into thrillers and this one did not disappoint.
After a couple of heart-in-throat moments appeared while WP was losing wickets, a back-end push saw them over the line.
But Linde after his 30-ball 70 in the previous game, dug deep with a 44 not out from 103 balls to steer the Cape side to their third victory in a row.
“We’re playing good as a team, it’s not just one guy or two guys, it’s normally the whole unit. I take my hat off to the bowling wicket, exceptional.
“You can see it in the bowling (the experience) and batting – Tony, even Jono, he’s still young but he plays cricket like he’s played for years, Vallie is there and there’s a lot of younger guys in between. We’ve got a well-balanced side, good experience and good inexperience.
“It was a difficult one. A difficult wicket, but I just told myself to try and get the team over the line.”
