An emphatic innings victory for the Dolphins has drawn the drapes on South African franchise cricket. It’s the end of an era, and it’s the Durban-based side clinched a resounding win in the home final against the Titans.

Sarel Erwee’s breakthrough season continued with a superb century. He’s already been part of a Proteas Test squad and has continued to make steady progress. Skipper Marques Ackerman put together an excellent 74 to set up a first-innings score of 295.

In response, the Titans were struggling right from the outset, as the Dolphins spinners proved to be the sweeping momentum shift. Offspinner Prenelan Subrayen took six wickets, as the Titans slid to one of their lowest scores – 53 all out.

The second innings was an opportunity to clear the deficit, but again, wickets fell at regular intervals, courtesy Subrayen and left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who’s also enjoyed a largely successful season. Rivaldo Moonsamy top scored with 41, but the Titans were soon bowled out for 166, coming up short by 76.
