“Happy to be back in the team,” said uncapped Proteas fast bowler, Sisanda Magala, ahead of the commencement of the limited-overs series between South Africa and Pakistan.

Magala’s time with the team, thus far, has included “hard graft, lots of running, lots of prep, lots of skill work. Good, hard days of training, so really enjoying it.”

Given this series is taking place towards the end of the South African cricket season, Magala said he was “just taking it one day at a time.” Having played a high volume of cricket through the season, Magala emphasized the importance of switching off from the game so that “when you’re ready to play cricket again, you’re ready 100 percent.”

“It’s important to find good quality time to chill and switch off so that you can find that energy to keep on coming back,” said Magala.

Since Magala has played with and against a number of members of the squad, it is easier to bond with the team. “It definitely makes the transition easier with team chemistry.”

Being a gregarious member of the squad, Magala was amused when asked about other team members who entertain him, “Keep me entertained? I am the entertainer.”
