There was always an understanding that for the 2023 World Cup, that the Proteas would be looking to fill in the gaps and build assurances around who will form part of their ODI squad.

With the bat, we saw Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Temba Bavuma, Janneman Malan, Andile Phehlukwayo and Kyle Verreynne erase any doubt surrounding their ability.

With the ball, Anrich Nortje, Andile Phehlukwayo and Keshav Maharaj stood out by taking the most wickets by South Africans in the series.
