We take a look at the top all-rounders at the conclusion of the group stage of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup.

Kelly Smuts – Eastern Province

With two half-centuries and one wicket to his name, Smuts’ batting efforts were crucial to his side topping their group. His 64 against Boland in their opening game and his 59 against South Western Districts were crucial in securing wins for his side. With a semi-final still left, the 29-year-old has proved that he and his side have what it takes to go all the way.

Robbie Frylinck – Kwa-Zulu Natal Inland

The experienced campaigner performed as expected. His wickets, that included 4/7 in KZN Inlands first game against South Western Districts set the tone for his side. He followed this up with 1/39 and an unbeaten 51 in his side’s win against Eastern Province and withered out in his last two games. The hard work was done early, however, as his side reached the semi-finals.

Grant Thomson – Easterns

The 31-year-old came to the party in his side’s last two games – scoring 41 against KZN and 48 against Northerns. He also took 1/28 and 0/8 respectively. With his side topping Pool A, Thomson has peaked at the perfect time ahead of his side’s semi-final.

Justin Watson – Mpumalanga

The 21-year-old had a solid tournament finishing with 7 wickets with a BBI of 4/16. With the bat, he recorded a high score of 49 not out with a total of 81 runs to his name in the four matches. Unfortunately, his side Mpumalanga could not reach the semis, winning just one game out of four.

Delano Potgieter – Gauteng

The Lions all-rounder scored 107 runs in his four matches for Gauteng, and also took 6 wickets with his best bowling performance coming against Kwa-Zulu Natal when he took 4/27. He scored 46 in Gauteng’s last group stage match, with his side having already been knocked out of the tournament.

Ferisco Adams – Boland

The Ice Man had a solid tournament showing his economical skill with the ball and effectiveness with the bat. He took six wickets for his side which included a BBI of 3/17 in Boland’s final match. He also hit an unbeaten 80 in his side’s only win, handing KZN Inland their only defeat of the group stages. Boland was knocked out of the tournament despite the 30-year-old’s efforts.

Prenelan Subrayen – Kwa-Zulu Natal

The 25-year-old is having a decent tournament. He has three scores in the 30s and has taken six wickets for Kwa-Zulu Natal, but they failed to secure their place in the semi-finals. The Dolphins man’s contributions were crucial to his side finishing second in what was one of the toughest groups in the CSA Provincial T20 Cup.

Jason Smith – Western Province

The 24-year-old had a better tournament with the bat than the ball as Western Province were eliminated from the CSA Provincial T20 Cup. He scored 46 in his side’s opening game against Border, and 48 in their last game against Mpumalanga which his side won in the super over. His best performance with the ball came against North West when he took 2/17, his only wickets in the tournament.

Eathen Bosch – Kwa-Zulu Natal

With one half-century and two wickets to his name, Bosch’s contributions were useful. The 21-year-old showed his quality with the bat but he failed to show off his full ability with the ball, taking just two wickets in the tournament.

Patrick Botha – Free State

Although his side found themselves at the bottom of Pool A, Botha had one decent performance in the tournament. He hit 49 and took 2/17 in side’s in his side’s defeat to Northerns. This was his only impressive performance as he failed to score runs and take wickets until his side’s final match against KZN, taking 1/29.

Glen Adams – Mpumalanga

The 24-year old could not help his side progress, but he contributed with bat or ball in every match he played. In order, he scored 42, 37, took 1/29 and 1/26 in his four matches played.

Ruan Haasbroek – North West

It was a little too late for the 22-year-old who only peaked in his side’s last two games of the group stages. He scored an unbeaten 45 against Mpumalanga and took 1/12, followed by 37 and 0/19 against the table-topping Border. North West finished third in Pool C.

Dayyaan Galiem – Northerns

The 22-year-old’s best performance came against the table-topping Easterns in what was his sides final game of the tournament. He scored an unbeaten 74 and took 1/37. This was his only decent performance with the bat, but he managed to finish with four wickets in the tournament.
