We wrap up Day 8 of the CSA T20 Challenge which saw Western Province Blitz extend their unbeaten run to 4 games and the Rocks beat the Lions.

North West Dragons vs Western Province Blitz: WP won by 84 runs

Despite losing some key players in their batting lineup, WP still scored 164/8. Jonathan Bird was the top performer with 53 off 44 balls. Two crucial cameos from Dane Vilas (31 off 20 balls) and Wayne Parnell (33 off 17 balls) got them to a defendable total.

Senuran Muthusamy was key for the Dragons with his 4/20.

It was however Beuran Hendricks (4-20) and Junaid Dawood (3-22) who were the stars of the show. Hendricks cleaned up with the new ball and Dawood with some lethal spin.

North West fought with a wicket in hand but in the end, only managed to score 80. WP won by 84 runs and earned a bonus point.

GBets Rocks vs Imperial Lions: Rocks won by 44 runs

The Rocks’ win was inspired by their captain Pieter Malan. He scored 71 runs off 48 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) to take the Rocks to 160 and then marshalled his bowlers to skittle the opposition for 116. The Lions only decent performer with the bat was Reeza Hendricks (46 off 39 balls).

The Rocks’ bowlers were deadly, Shaun von Berg their top wicket-taker with 3/14. Siyabonga Mahima, Hardus Viljoen and Ferisco Adams took 2 wickets each, while Imran Manack took one.
