Graeme Richards chats to Khalid Mohidin about the Mzansi Super League, the media’s role in promoting the tournament and he gives some tips to young aspiring broadcasters.

It was an interesting conversation. Aspiring broadcaster to veteran in the game. Being in the position to interview one of South Africa’s best, was an honour.

You always see personalities on TV and they have this positive happy demeanor about them, and when you meet them in person you are often disappointed. But on this occasion, the friendly, positive, energetic man that wakes you up on Exspresso in the morning, was exactly the same in the flesh.

I was slightly nervous at first. The fact that I interviewed cricketers did not really aid me at this particular moment, because this time I was interviewing the interviewer – a master of his craft – and somehow I had to tie it in to Cricket Fanatics Magazine’s theme.

There was no time to prepare and I had a small window to work in because of his busy schedule, but once the ball was rolling I felt more comfortable with him.

Thanks a lot Graeme, I learnt a lot from you during this interview.
