Cobras Cubs captain Daniel Smith carried his bat throughout the innings scoring 77 off 120 balls, to take the Cobras to victory and the Cubs Week Title.

The Titans Cubs won the toss in the Cubs Week final, electing to bat first. They lost their first wicket for just 18 runs, with Ryan Maxl being run out by Kaden Solomons for 5. Dewald Brevis top-scored for the Titans with 62 off 67 balls.

Other contributions from Christiaan Daniels, Jabulani Nkosi and Nathan Steyn saw that the Titans got over the psychological figure of 200, posting a total of 201-7.

The Cobras’ bowlers restricted the Titans well, making sure that their run rate didn’t go much over 4. Salmaan Ajam, Asakhe Tsaka and Darian Naidoo all took 2 wickets respectively. However, Tsaka was the pick of the bowlers with an economy of 3.10.

The Cobras came out to chase, not for the first time in the tournament. Openers Ethan Cunningham and Daniel Smith got off to a flyer, playing shots all around the ground. The Cobras Cubs were 70-0 after 10 overs.

Cunningham and Smith put on an opening partnership of 127 runs before Cunningham was caught at mid-on for 79 off 69. Nicholas Keevy then came to the crease, continuing where Cunningham left off and finishing on 43 off 40 balls.

Captain Daniel Smith reverse swept for 4 to hit the winning runs, finishing with 77 runs of 120 balls. The Cobras Cubs chased the total down in 38 overs with just 1 wicket down. They won emphatically by 9 wickets.
