We wrap up day one of the CSA T20 Challenge which saw Western Province Blitz and Warriors pick up victories.
Western province Blitz vs GBets Rocks: Blitz won by six wickets
Having won the toss and opting to bat first, GBets Rocks openers, Janneman and Pieter Malan failed to set a solid enough foundation for the middle order to come in guns-blazing. Pieter received a peach of a delivery from Beauran Hendricks (2-28 in 4 overs) that sent his middle stump flying.
Christiaan Jonker (46 off 43 with four 4s and one 6) and Ferisco Adams (34 off 28 with four 4s) combined in an effort to save the innings but George Linde (2-13 in 4 overs) had already done the damage. In reply, Richard Levi (67 off 39 nine 4s and three 6s) and Aviwe Mgijima (26 off 17 with two 6s and one boundary) ensured that Blitz chased the total (143 runs) with three overs to spare.

GBets Warriors vs Momentum Multiply Titans: Warriors won by 8 runs
Matthew Breetzke (36 off 21 with five 4s and one 6) and Wihan Lubbe (56 off 46 with three 4s and two 6s) opened the batting for the Warriors after being asked to bat by the Titans and put on a solid 65-run stand before Aaron Phangiso (1-24 in 4 overs) broke through the defence of Breetzke to hand Titans their first wicket of the day.
Coming in at five, Tristan Stubbs (51 off 27 with four 6s and one 4) put on a show with the bat and took the Warriors to a competitive total of 163 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Titans batters started their campaign in the worst possible way by losing Quinton de Kock (0 off 2 deliveries) in the very first over thanks to a last-minute decision by captain Sinethemba Qeshile to give the new ball to Wihan Lubbe (2-15 in 2 overs) instead of Dane Patterson (0-37 in 3 overs). Jon-Jon Smuts bowled an incredible spell of 1-12 in his allotted 4 overs, while Mthiwekhaya Nabe’s two late wickets saw the Warriors win by 8 runs.
