Andrea Agathangelou (313) and Yaseen Valli (230) shared an incredible record-breaking 485-run stand to help Easterns post an astounding 642/4d in a 3-Day Cup game against Boland.
It was a remarkable day in the 3-Day Cup. After Boland posted an incredible 410/9d thanks to a ton from both Ruan Terblanche (105) and Isma-eel Gafieldien (115). It seemed as though Boland were in total control until Easterns got their innings underway.
Agathangelou spent 621 minutes at the crease and scored 25 fours and 4 sixes. Valli spent 508 minutes at the crease before losing his wicket; he hit 22 fours and one six.
The 642 was the 11th highest score in South African first-class history.
The pair’s partnership is the sixth-highest opening stand in first-class cricket history and the highest ever opening stand in South African first-class cricket history.
