Alex Hales’ spectacular unbeaten 97 off 55 balls led the Durban Heat to a crucial victory over the Paarl Rocks at Boland Park.
Hales’ unbeaten 97 from 55 balls included 9 fours and 3 sixes. He was well supported in a 62-run stand with David Miller who scored 40 from 22 balls including 1 four and 3 sixes. They got their side over the line in a nail-biting 6-wicket win.
This saw the Heat chase down the 195/2 that was set by the Paarl Rocks, in what was the highest chase of this season’s MSL.
For the Rocks, Cameron Delport and Henry Davids set the platform with a 50-run stand despite the latter going out early.
The former scored 84 from 49 balls including 10 fours and 3 sixes. He shared in a 53-run with Faf du Plessis who scored a brilliant unbeaten 66* from 36 balls including 3 fours and 4 sixes to guide the Paarl Rocks to 195-2 in 20 overs.
