Proteas coach Mark Boucher chats to the media ahead of the short outbound ODI series against India.
Boucher has been impressed with the way the players have responded to the messages that he and his coaching staff have been sending out.
The Proteas coach has been fortunate that the opportunities he has given to new players has seen them perform, giving him what he has described as a “good headache” heading into the series against India.
He admitted that it will be a tough test to go up against a “strong India side” in their home conditions.
Boucher also explained the selection of Janneman Malan and why he initially left him out the squad.
He revealed that Temba Bavuma’s injury had a lot to do with his initial selection, and because Bavuma isn’t fully recovered, Malan got the opportunity. He also reiterated that Bavuma owns the opening spot.
