Proteas fast-bowling great Allan Donald has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
The legend affectionately known as “White Lightning” was among an illustrious trio of inductees which also featured Sachin Tendulkar former Australia Women fast-bowler, Cathryn Fitzpatrick.
It is a fitting acknowledgement of a phenomenal career. Donald ripped through many a batting-order in his decade-long career.
His ability to bowl bouncers in excess of 145 km/h and penchant for toe-crunching yorkers saw the Free-State native capture 330 Test scalps inluding 20 five-fors and three ten-wicket hauls in 72 matches.
As deadly with white-ball in hand, Donald claimed 272 wickets at an average of 21.78.
