Cricket South Africa’s Men’s selection panel has confirmed full-strength squads for the upcoming white-ball series against India, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is across nine cities.

ODI captain Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas in the 50-over series from 30 November – 06 December, with matches in Ranchi, Raipur and Visakhapatnam. Aiden Markram returns to captain the T20I side for the five-match series scheduled for 09 – 19 December.

North West batter Rubin Hermann, who made his debut earlier this month against Pakistan, has been rewarded with another call-up to the ODI squad.

In the T20I group, Anrich Nortje makes a welcome return. The Hollywoodbets Dolphins fast bowler last featured for South Africa in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final in Barbados.

Head Coach Shukri Conrad said the tour provides crucial preparation ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup in India:

“We’re really looking forward to this white-ball tour for so many reasons. The T20I series in particular is an important opportunity for us to finalise our squad ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup, which will also be played in India. Getting clarity on combinations and roles now is crucial as we build toward that tournament.

“Of course we’ll miss KG on this tour, but as we saw in the first Test win over India, this group has depth. One of our biggest goals is to develop a unit filled with players who can step up at any time.

“It’s also great to welcome Anrich back into the T20I side after he missed the previous tours through injury. We know exactly what he brings.

“In the 50-over format, these matches will give us a clear picture of where we are as a group and what we need to build on as we shape the squad toward the 2027 World Cup.”
