India got past the 100-run mark when Keshav Maharaj found the edge of KL Rahul (39), which flew into the hands of slip. India were 109-3.

Just before lunch, Corbin Bosch cramped Rishabh Pant (27) with a short delivery, which he tried to pull, but the ball looped in the air, and Verreynne ran to his right to take a simple catch.

India went into lunch on 138-4.

They continued to chip away at the deficit and took themselves past 150, when Harmer got his second, taking a difficult low catch to dismiss Dhruv Jurel (14). India were 153-5.

SA got into the lead, but wickets continued to fall, Jadeja the destroyer. He took two wickets in the 17th over. The extra bounce caught Mulder’s glove through to the keeper. De Zorzi got glove onto the thigh pad to short leg. SA were in big trouble on 40-4.
