South Africans for MI Cape Town shine with the bat to complete a simple chase at Newlands against Durban Super Giants.

The visitors struggled to find momentum in the match, losing wickets at crucial stages that completely halted their flow. All they needed was to take six wickets to rattle DSG and restrict them to a below-par total.

Heinrich Klaasen scored a crucial 66 off 43 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) to help the Durban Super Giants limp to 149-6, helped only by a half-century from Kane Williamson (5 fours, 2 sixes).

The MI chase was kickstarted by a 75-run partnership between Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton. This laid the foundation for the middle order to take things home.

Van der Dussen was the first to fall, bowled by Keshav Maharaj on 24 in the 9th over. Rickelton scored his second half-century of the tournament – 63 off 41 balls (3 fours, 6 sixes). He took his side to 98-2 before losing his wicket on the last ball of the 11th over, to Junior Dala.

Dewlad Brevis (26 off 16 balls) and George Linde (29 off 8 balls) took their team home. They chased down the target with 31 balls remaining, winning by 7 wickets.

The victory took MI to second on the table.
