South Africa bowled Bangladesh out twice on Day 3 of the 2nd Test to win by an innings and 273 runs, sealing a 2-0 series victory.
South Africa dominated Bangladesh with the ball on Day 3.
The hosted started the day on 38-4.
The newly ranked No 1 Test bowler Kagiso Rabada took his 16th five-wicket haul.
He was supported by his opening partner Dane Paterson who picked up his 2nd.
SA reduced Bangladesh to 48-8 after just 5 and a half overs bowled.
The hosts did however find some fight. Mominul Haque (74*) batted superbly. He took Bangladesh to 137-8 by Lunch, needing 239 runs to avoid the follow on.
Bangladesh frustrated the Proteas after lunch by brining up 151, but the introduction of Senuran Muthusamy saw Mominul trapped lbw after a well-played 82.
They needed 225 run to avoid the follow at this point with one wicket in hand.
Maharaj wrapped up Bangladesh. They were all out for 159, trailing by 416 and South Africa enforced the follow on.
Bangladesh put 15 runs on the board before Paterson got the first wicket of Shadman Islam (6), just 5 overs into the follow-on.
Muthasamy took five deliveries to take another wicket, Mahmudul (11) edging to slip. Bangladesh were reduced to 28-2 in 10.5 overs.
Mominul tried to be aggressive by swinging a cross the line against Maharaj, but he picked out the fielder in the deep for a duck. A shocking shot considering his performance in the first innings.
Bangladesh were now 29-3 in 11.2 overs.
Muthusamy struck again just before Tea, the hosts reduced to 43-4, trailing by 373.
After the break, South Africa took their 5th wicket. Muthusamy dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim to reduce Bangladesh to 48-5, picking up his third of the innings.
Maharaj reduced them to 70-6 by the 22nd over, Mehidy Hasan Miraz edge finding Stubbs at backward square leg.
Muthusamy took his fourth wicket dismissing the captain Shanto for 36, as the hosts were reduced to 78-7.
Maharaj then picked up his 3rd reducing Bangladesh to 94-8 with the wicket of Taijul. He then picked up his fourth by dismissing Mahidul Islam Ankon (29) and they were 131-9.
It was a race for the five-for between the two spinners.
Nahid Rana was the last wicket to fall, Maharaj bringing up his 11th career five-wicket haul.
Bangladesh were all out for 143.
South Africa won by an innings and 273 runs.
