Tristan Stubbs made history by becoming the first EP or Warriors player to hit a triple century.

In an extraordinary display of batting, Stubbs and Matthew Breetzke put on a formidable partnership scoring a staggering 473 runs for the Warriors’ third wicket.

However, their momentum was abruptly halted when play was suspended due to deteriorating light conditions in Pietermaritzburg, and they were forced to retreat from the field at 11 am.

The players eventually returned to resume the match after a couple of hours. Breetzke lost his wicket after facing just two balls.

Stubbs refused to yield, showcasing his determination and resilience as he continued his onslaught against the KZN Inland Tuskers’ bowling attack. Stubbs surged past the milestone of 300 runs, ultimately reaching an astonishing score of 302* off 372 balls.

This remarkable achievement marked a significant milestone in Stubbs’ career, surpassing his previous highest score of 132 in first-class cricket by a considerable margin.

As the innings unfolded, Stubbs’ performance not only propelled the Warriors to a commanding position but also strengthened his chances to keep his place in the Test side.
