Aiden Markram produced a phenomenal innings of 68* off 36 balls to take the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a comprehensive victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chasing 176 against a formidable Kolkata Knight Riders bowling attack, the Sunrisers Hyderabad found themselves in a precarious position at 39/2, having lost both openers, including Kane Williamson.

Aiden Markram, in a 94-run partnership with Rahul Tripathi, who scored a magnificent 71 off 37 balls, ensured that he stayed till the end, and that the Sunrisers Hyderabad were able to chase down 176 with 13 balls to spare.

Early in his innings, Markram rotated strike smartly, given that Tripathi was taking the attack to the opposition. Soon enough, Markram found his groove and dominated spin and pace in equal measure.

Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine are among the best white-ball spinners going around, but Markram was able to score off them comfortably. He was also able to challenge the fast bowlers, Andre Russell and Pat Cummins.

Markram was at his imperious best against Cummins towards the end of the innings, when he dispatched him for a boundary and two consecutive sixes to finish the game for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 18th over itself.
