A forgettable run-chase from the Dolphins propelled Rocks to third on the CSA T20 Challenge log and secured the Boland-based team a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.
GBets Rocks vs Hollywoodbets Dolphins: Rocks won by 8 runs
The Dolphins bowling produced a performance that saw the Rocks register the second-lowest total at this year’s competition. Eathan Bosch (3-23) and Prenelan Subrayen (2-18) spearheaded the Dolphins attack and eventually reduced the Rocks to 119-9 in their allotted 20 overs. Pieter Malan’s 33 off 30 was the Rocks’ highest individual score as the rest of the batters struggled.
Chasing 120 in 120 deliveries, the Dolphins batters made it difficult for themselves by losing wickets at regular intervals. Struggling to put together partnerships, the Dolphins ended up losing the match by 8 runs. Ziyaad Abrahams’ 3-22 saw the Rocks home and secured them a spot in the semi-final stage of the competition.

Imperial Lions vs Itec Knights: Lions won by five wickets
This encounter was a reflection of where the two teams are in the competition’s log standings; at the bottom. Batting first, the Knights scored 127-8 in their allotted 20 overs. The Knights batters depended on Jacques Snyman and Farhaan Behardien way too much in this competition and today’s match was no different as the two batters top-scored with 39 and 35 respectively.
In reply, the Lions, already out of the competition, continued to struggle with the bat as they have been throughout the competition. Mitchell van Buuren carried the Lions on his back and pushed them to a 5-wickets victory.
