Tazmin Brits scored the first century of the tournament, helping North West get their second win of the Women’s Provincial One Day Tournament.
North West vs Easterns:
Tazmin Brits scored a brilliant 106 off 76 balls, at a strike rate of 139.47, with fifteen 4s and one 6. North West had a 70-run opening stand, before partner, Izel Cilliers got dismissed lbw by Alysia Rudolph for 14. Other mentions go to Masabata Klaas and Anica Swart who scored 76 and 45* respectively. Madison Landsman picked up both of the key wickets of Brits and Klaas, finishing with figures of 2-69 in her 10 overs.
The rest of the North West Dragons team chipped in, to get them to a mammoth total of 322-7 in their 50 overs. Easterns Women came out to chase, losing wickets early. The highest score of their innings was 24 from Jenna Searle. Easterns struggled to 86-9 in 33.3 overs. Alyssa Erxleben was the pick of the bowlers for the Dragons, picking up 4-13 in 7 overs. She also bowled 2 maidens and finished with an economy of 1.86. North West comfortably won the game.
