Lerato Kgoatle starred for Limpopo with a century, as we wrap up the morning games of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup.

Northerns vs Free State

Jonathan Vandiar was the star player for his side batting until the 19th over and scoring 81 off 51 balls (10 fours, 3 sixes). This helped them post a mammoth 203/4. They proceeded to skittle Free State for 131. Ruan de Swart (3-14) and Luvuyo Nkese (3-24) were the key bowlers taking three wickets each.

Kwa-Zulu Natal vs Gauteng

Natal’s bowling performance won them their game against Gauteng. After scoring just 124/8 in 20 overs, they defended this spectacularly by restricting Gauteng to 112/8. They had a spread out bowling performance with
Daryn Dupavillon and Prenelan Subrayen taking two wickets each. The star of the day was Delano Potgieter who took 4-27 in what was unfortunately 12-run defeat for his side.

Eastern Province vs Boland

Joshua van Heerden (61 off 51 balls) and Kelly Smuts (64 off 46 balls) scored a bulk of their side’s runs to help EP post 151-2. Their bowling attack did well to restrict Boland to 144/7, with Tiaan van Vuuren (2-33), Basheeru-Deen Walters (2-21) and Thomas Kaber (2-22) taking the bulk of the wickets. They secured a seven-run win despite a good start from Hanno Kotze (47 off 40 balls) at the top of the order.

South Western District vs Kwa-Zulu Natal Inland

Robbie Frylinck used his experience to take 4-7 in 3.1 overs which saw SWD skittled for 118. A 47 off 43 balls from Cody Chetty and 43 off 35 balls from Grant Roelofsen took KZN to 106 before Kyle Nipper’s 11-ball 18 sealed an eight-wicket victory.

Western Province vs Border

Despite 53 from Andre Malan and 46 off 30 balls from Jason Smith taking WP to 150/4, the team from the Cape still found themselves on the losing side. Quick-fire cameos won the game for Border, with Sinethemba Qeshile top scoring for his side with a 31-ball 38.

Mpumalanga vs Limpopo

Alexander Kok (46 off 23 balls) and Glen Adams (42 off 32 balls) were mainly responsible for their Mpumalanga’s total of 172/9. But they could not stop Lerato Kgoatle from scoring the first century of the tournament. The 26-year old romped a 67-ball 101 (16 fours and a six) to take his side to a seven-wicket win.
