Heinrich Klaasen finds some form
Klaasen was brought into the fold after an injury to Rudi Second. The wicket-keeper batsman showed some fight for South Africa A and this was pleasing to see. Despite coming to the crease when the team was in a spot of bother, he managed to somewhat rescue them by scoring 48 in the second innings, albeit in a losing cause.
Lungi Ngidi fit and ready
Ngidi running in and taking wickets is refreshing. Coming off an injury and with the build up to the Proteas series vs India, it’s great to see him finding form again. He picked up 5 wickets for 72 runs over two innings in the first unofficial Test match. His bowling helped make crucial breakthroughs throughout the match, but it was not enough to restrict India A who claimed a comprehensive seven-wicket win.
Marco Jansen a future prospect
The 19-year old was the top scorer in the first innings coming to the crease when SA A was in serious trouble with the top six failing miserably. He also picked up two wickets in the match. It’s good to see the youngster do well, especially in the subcontinent and with him being a left-arm all-rounder there is a massive gap for him in the national side in the near future.
