We wrap up day one action of round 2 of the 4-Day Franchise Series fixtures. 

Titans vs Cobras 
After a rocky start that saw the Cobras lose three wickets for 34 runs, Kyle Verreynne and Pieter Malan stepped up for their side with a crucial century apiece. Verreynne score 155 off 207 balls and Malan 120 off 272. The Cobras ended the day on 322/7. This was Verreynne’s maiden first-class century for the Cobras. His first ever first-class century was for Western Province.

Lions vs Warriors
Down at the Wanderers got the worst possible start. They were bowled out for 152 runs in under 50 overs. Lutho Sipamla was impressive with 4/57. Rassie van der Dussen (67) and Wiaan Mulder (46) kept the Lions’ innings alive but both were not able to push their side to a decent total. The Warriors made it to 113/5 by the end of the day’s play.

Dolphins vs Knights 
Batting first at Kingsmead, the Dolphins ended the day on 333/7 thanks to  Marques Ackerman (88), Robbie Frylinck (78), Khaya Zondo (64*) and Cody Chetty (48). For the Knights, Gerald Coetzee continued his form from his first match that saw him take seven wickets against the Warriors and ended with figures of 4/60 by stumps.
