We take a look at the top performers, according to the stats, in the Women’s Super League 3.0.
Stand-out Batters:
Proteas’ stalwarts Sune Luus and Laura Wolvaardt scored the most runs in the tournament, with 150 and 114 runs respectively.
Luus hit 18 fours in her 3 innings, with a strike rate of 127 and average of 50.
Faye Tunnicliffe and 19-year-old Annerie Dercksen also impressed with the bat. Tunnicliffe scored 97 runs in the tournament, with her highest score being 69.
Dercksen batted twice in the tournament scoring 67 runs with 10 fours, showing the Proteas’ selectors how capable she is with the bat. Other notable performances included those from Kirstie Thomson and Anneke Bosch.
Stand-out Bowlers:
In the bowling department, 21-year-old Nobulumko Baneti was the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, walking away with 7 wickets from just 5 overs. She bowled 10 dot balls and had an economy of 5.6.
Masabata Klaas yet again was in the mix when it comes to wickets, taking 6 wickets in the tournament. Madison Landsman impressed with 4 wickets with an economy of 3.50, while Proteas all-rounder Nadine de Klerk took 3 wickets at 3.88.
This tournament showed the immense amount of young female talent in South African cricket.
