A comprehensive bowling display by the West Indies in St. Vincent has set up a rather comfortable, 8-wicket victory.
The trend of low-scoring affairs continued, as the South Africans were restricted to a meager 103 all out. It was collectively a tremendous effort with the ball from the hosts – pacers Layne, Clarke, and Mahase each claimed two wickets, while left-arm spinner Carmichael took an impressive 3/25.
Michael Copeland top-scored for SA with a 52-ball 24, and it was an innings that struggled to find rhythm.
The chase was pressure-free, and opener Matthew Nandu scored a solid, unbeaten 42, and skipper Ackeem Auguste helped knock off the remaining runs to seal the victory.
The series is now all square at 1-1, with two games to go. South Africa won a tense contest last game, and the Windies have come roaring back not long after. A cracking second half of the series awaits us.
