On the Daily Show, we opened up the lines for fans to call into the show and share their ideal top six.

I sat with a friend discussing the Proteas’ recent performance against Australia at the Gabba and after a back-and-forth fencing of words, he asked me a very interesting question.

“What would your top six be?”

That got me thinking. This would make an excellent Daily Show topic, but with a little extra twist.

If these were the only rules:
– You could pick any player in the domestic scene to replace anyone in the first Test XI.
– You can also keep anyone in the current squad
– You can’t, however, bring someone out of retirement
– No transformation restrictions
